Lunch time

We are having lunch in class this week because we have parent teacher confrinses. We are having free time. We get to play with all sorts of games.

It's Friday :)

Today we are doing silent reading. 

We all have a 4 day weekend because of a Veterans Day :D Even though we are having fun in class we can't wait for the weekend. We also have to remember to practice our instruments for 15 minutes at home.

After lunch we have Art and Music. We also have PE. It's Game day!

5th grade is also doing a fundraiser where we sell raffle tickets. :) We need money so we can go to outdoor school in January!

it's Monday

We are working on our sign of the beaver essays right now. Indigo, Bridget, Marina, and Helena are posing for a picture. We also switched seats, so we get to sit with different people. Every one has to get used to sitting somewhere else. At the end of the day we have P.E. And little buddies. We are so excited to see them!

Halloween party and parade tomorrow

We are all excited for Halloween Tomarrow! There will be lots of sweets at our party.We will be walking across town in our costumes for the parade.We will also have an early dismissal at 11:55 so we will have plenty of time to get ready to trick or treat. 

We went to a play today!

We went to a play today. It was at the veterans hall and we walked down there for a walking field trip. The name of the play was Thomas and the Library Lady. It was about a boy named Thomas who spoke Spanish and was trying to learn English so he wouldn't have trouble in school. When he went to the library the librarian helped him learn to read English. It was based on a true story.

We also had music class today and we got our instruments. Everyone got their favorite or second favorite instument to learn to play and take home. We are having lots of fun today!

Writing Time

In class today we are working on writing

One thing we are working on is our newspapers. For our news papers we have to do research online

and take pictures to make it look like a real newspaper.
We have also been doing the rough draft for our Bio Poems where we make a creative poem about ourselfs.

Mrs. DeMeyer's last day

We'll to day we say good bye to not only our librarian but our dearest friend. Wish she could stay but she has to take care of herself. So we will all miss our favorite librarian.

Mrs. DeMeyer

Our beloved librarian, Mrs. DeMeyer will be retiring on September 30, 2014. We enjoyed our first library day with her last Friday. She's will be dearly missed but we understand that she needs to focus on her health and getting better. We love you Mrs. DeMeyer!

3 facts you don't know about me are

1. I had 2 guinea pigs named Batman and Fluffy (aka chubby wubby). But Batman died from surgery a couple months ago.:(... But We still have Fluffy. Fluffy is in the picture.:)

2. I am taking 4 dance classes this year tap3B, hiphop1, jazz 2B, and ballet 4. Soon going into point the next 2 following years. I have been in dance class for 7 years.

3.I have been here  at Solvang School since 3rd grade. My old school was Los Olivos Elementary. Tatum and I were at Los Olivos school since grade K.

4.Tatum was my 2nd friend ever and our moms say we met when we were 15 months old.

My name is Madison Gundell, my birthday is July 10, 2003.  

 

#1  thing that you don't know about me is that I went to Florida this summer with my mom.  We went to Magic Kingdom, which is kind of like Disneyland, my favorite ride was Space Mountain.  We were in Florida for 10 days and we had a great time.  

#2 thing you don't know know about me is that I have a cat named Joey he is about 5 years old, he showed up in our backyard one day about 1 1/2 years ago and has been with us ever since.  I also have a 3 legged Chihuahua mix dog named Olivia.  We adopted her from the Humane Society in Buellton  when she was about 5 months old.  Today, August 19th is her 4th birthday.  Olivia does not care for Joey  much at all!

#3 thing that you don't know about me is that I have 2 brothers, but they are a lot older than I am and don't live with us at home  anymore.  Donovan is 24 and Julian is 21.  So it is just me, my mom and dad, and our dog and cat.

    One thing you don't know about me is I do golf, I've been playing golf since I  was four years old. I have lessons and my dad takes me to go sometimes. Another thing you don't know about me is that I met Selena Gomez when I went to her concert, it was so much fun! We took a picture and talked. The third thing is that I used to live in Wisconsin, so we go visit every summer. I just went a week ago. I miss the snow because we would ski, ice skate,sled,and do other snow sports and games!
